It may be a small shelf, but Walmart is packing up and moving its guns safe shelf at its St. Louis store.
The store in the heart of the St. Charles shopping mall has been shut down since early March, after the city’s Department of Public Safety received reports of people being shot at the store.
“We’ve been notified by the Department of Safety that there were people shot and injured at the Walmart store in downtown St.
Charles on March 23,” Walmart spokesperson Tami Stolz said in a statement.
“The incident is under investigation.”
St. Louis County police said a man was killed by gunfire at the St, Charles Walmart on March 24.
Walmart said it has been working to provide better protection to its employees, and a representative from the department told CNN the store was shut down as a precaution.
